GETTYSBURG, Pa. (September 14, 2020) – After scratching from action during Thursday’s Tuscarora weekend opener, Danny Dietrich and Gary Kauffman Racing returned to the Port Royal Speedway “Speed Palace” the following evening and entered the annual Night Before the Tuscarora 50, ultimately rebounding big from Thursday and trading in his scratch for a top-ten performance. The 12-time winner in 2020 finished ninth during the $6,000-to-win preliminary, charging ahead from 13th on the starting grid.

Although failing to match his overall performance from one night prior, “Double-D” still managed to earn himself a spot in the Tuscarora 50 finale, capping the 50-lap, $53,000-to-win main event with a 12th-place finish after starting ninth. The Gettysburg, Pennsylvania-native earned his way into the big dance by transferring through his respective heat race.

“We didn’t have the weekend we wanted; we kinda struggled,” Danny Dietrich said, driver of the Gary Kauffman Racing, Weikert’s Livestock, Sandoe’s Fruit Market, Pace Performance, Big Cove Whitetail Trophy Hunts, Drop Of Ink Tattoo, Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC, Self Made, No. 48 sprint car. “Hats off to my team. I couldn’t do it without those guys. And a big thanks to all of the fans who came out and supported us all weekend. We couldn’t do it without them, so thank you.”

Danny Dietrich and Gary Kauffman Racing will resume their 2020 schedule with four events in four days, visiting Lincoln Speedway, BAPS Motor Speedway, Williams Grove Speedway, and another trip to Lincoln Speedway on Wednesday through Saturday, September 16-19. The Lincoln Speedway double carries a $26,900 potential, as Wednesday’s Weldon Sterner Memorial will pay $6,900-to-win and Saturday’s annual Dirt Classic will pay $20,000-to-win. In addition, Williams Grove’s Jack Gunn Memorial/Dirt Classic Qualifier will award $5,000.

The Jack Gunn Memorial and Dirt Classic will feature the All Star Circuit of Champions.
