Danny Dietrich claims victory at The Grove; Top-Five during Bob Weikert Memorial

GETTYSBURG, PA (May 30, 2017) – Three main event starts in Central Pennsylvania resulted in three top-five finishes for “Double-D” Danny Dietrich during Memorial Day weekend, highlighted with a victory at Williams Grove Speedway to kick-off the holiday on Friday night, May 26. Dietrich’s flag-to-flag victory, his fourth of the season and his first at Williams Grove Speedway, was worth $4,000.

The Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, native continued his Memorial Day weekend campaign in Central Pennsylvania with back-to-back appearances at the Port Royal Speedway “Speed Palace” in Port Royal on Saturday and Monday, May 27 & 29. Dietrich finished fourth and second during his two-day stint at the Juniata County Fairgrounds; second on Saturday, May 27, to open Bob Weikert Memorial weekend, followed by a fourth place performance during the $10,000 finale on Monday, May 29 (postponed from Sunday, May 28, due to wet weather).

Memorial Day weekend results allowed Dietrich to maintain his position on top of the Central PA Sprint Series presented by Hoseheads championship, now with an 81-point margin over Fayetteville, Pennsylvania’s Lance Dewease.

“It was a great weekend for our team, no doubt about that,” Danny Dietrich said. “I can’t thank my crew enough for what they do to make this car go forward. I’m positive we have even bigger things to come this season. I also want to thank the Weikert family for everything they did this weekend at Port Royal Speedway. We tried to win the Bob Weikert Memorial for them, but came up a little short. We’ll work on some things this week and try again on Friday night.”

Danny Dietrich, pilot of the Gary Kauffman Racing/Weikert’s Livestock/Sandoe’s Fruit Market/Pace Performance/Gsell’s Whitetails/Hickory Run Orchards/Carlisle Auto Salvage/CATS Used Truck Parts/Drop Of Ink Tattoo/Bowman Block & Head Repair/Sweeney Cars/Self Made/No. 48, will return to competition in Central Pennsylvania on Friday and Saturday, June 2-3, with appearances at Williams Grove Speedway and Lincoln Speedway, respectively. Dietrich owns three victories at Lincoln in 2017, most recently during the annual Weldon Sterner Memorial worth $6,900.

Recent Highlights: Finished eighth against Arctic Cat All Stars at Bubba Raceway Park to launch 2017 season. Earned top-ten finish against World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series on Sunday afternoon, February 19. Earned Lincoln Speedway Icebreaker 30 victory worth $4,000 on Saturday, February 25. Earned Lincoln Speedway victory on Saturday, March 25. Finished ninth against Arctic Cat All Stars at Atomic Speedway on April 9. Recorded a Central PA podium sweep at Williams Grove (2nd) and Lincoln Speedway (3rd) on April 14-15. Earned Weldon Sterner Memorial victory at Lincoln Speedway on April 29 worth $6,900. Finished third during Gettysburg Clash at Lincoln Speedway with World of Outlaws on May 17. Earned victory at Williams Grove Speedway on May 26 during Charity event. Finished fourth during Bob Weikert Memorial finale at Port Royal Speedway on May 29. Finished second during Bob Weikert Memorial preliminary on Saturday, May 27.
