THE GROVE
With a time trial show, Double D pulls a # 38. Double D went out to time in the middle, 19th of 38 cars and he ended up timing 24th. Double D started 6th in Heat 4. Only 5 cars would qualify into the feature, and Double D made the cut off with a 5th place finish. Getting his time back, Double D started 20th for the feature. Passing a few cars, Double D moved into the top 15. With a slick track and driving aggressive, Double D enters turn one high and tries to cut across to the bottom only to spin his #48 Sprinter in turn 1. Rejoining the field, Double D resumes his move forward and ends up with an 18th place finish.
LINCOLN
Looking to repeat last week’s results, Double D is set to start 7th in Heat 1. At the drop of the green, Double D gets his #48 Sandoe’s sponsored Sprinter into 6th place and begins to challenge 5th place running Jim Siegel. Double D would close to Siegel’s bumper, but that’s all the closer he would get and as the checkered flag flew Double D crosses in the finial transfer spot. Double D and GKR make some changes and adjustments to the Gary Kauffman owned Sprinter for the feature. Double D lined up 16th for the feature. DD fell back to 18th at the start, but Double D settles in and starts putting his sprinter up against the wall passing cars every lap. Halfway Double D is running 8th when smoke starts spewing from Double D’s #48 sprinter going into turn 3. Double D continues as smoke begins to fill the cockpit with 6 laps remaining. Double D kills power and comes to a stop on the front stretch. As a push truck delivers Double D to his trailer, the team started looking over the car. Double D finds that the gasket had sucked in, causing an oil leak. Double D is credited with a disappointing 23rd, considering he should have had a top 5.
